“I never had any intentions of being an artist. I
was a radio DJ, a model, a sound technician, and a manager
of an independent record label at one point. Being an artist
really never occurred to me, but happened to me all at the
same time.”
At age 22, Tait left Erie, PA upon graduation from Gannon
University, achieving her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication
Arts in a record time of 2.5 years. She headed off to New
York City, but she would not settle for long.

Thirty states later, Tait discovered her voice through
her art in Morgan Hill, CA after embarking on a volunteer
project that closed months after her arrival. The project
closing was for Tait, a project beginning, as the opening
of Silence Speaks online occurred in 1998.
Now in 2003, the gallery contains over 130 original works
and inspirational sayings by Tait. There are no sketches,
just symbols of bold lines and color emerging a lesson learned
within us all.
